- 500ml Cake Flour
- 50ml Ground Ginger
- 5ml Ground Cinnamon
- 2.5ml Baking Soda
- 2ml Sea Salt
- 250ml Sugar
- 80ml Syrup
- 1 egg
- 180g Butter
- Brown sugar to roll cookies
Sift the cake flour, ginger, cinnamon, baking soda and salt together.
In a separate bowl, mix the butter and sugar until light and creamy.
Mix the egg separately with a fork. Add the egg to the butter mixture and mix very well. Add the syrup.
Add half of the flour mixture and mix well, then add the rest of the flour mixture and mix until dough has formed.
Make small balls and roll them in the brown sugar. Place on pre-prepared baking tray. It is not necessary to flatten the balls manually – it flattens as it bakes.
Bake for ± 15 minutes at 180 ° C.
Allow to cool on a wire rack and store in an airtight container.
