In an attempt to generate less waste, I have started to make my own All Purpose Cleaning Spray.
I buy my ingredients in bulk and save in that way and I can reuse my own spray bottle every time I make a batch to refill my bottle.
Please note that this all purpose cleaning spray is not suitable for cleaning granite. The vinegar can harm the finishing of your granite tops. Always use a cleaner that does not contain vinegar to clean your granite products.
The recipe:
- 400ml warm water
- 10 mℓ bicarbonate of soda
- 2.5 mℓ liquid dishwashing soap
- 60 mℓ white vinegar
- A few drops of essential oil of your choice – but this is optional.
In a jug with a volume of two litres, mix the water, dishwashing liquid and bicarbonate of soda until the bicarb is fully dissolved. Now slowly add the vinegar – the mixture will bubble and form a lot of foam. Stir slowly and let it stand for a little while until most of the foam has disappeared .
Pour into you spray bottle and use it by spraying it on the surface that you would like to clean, leave for 5 minutes to give it a chance to loosen up dirt and then wipe clean.
Lots of recipes only uses a mixture of dish soap and water as a all purpose cleaner but I found that it takes a little more scrubbing to get dirt off the surfaces than with this all purpose spray with bicarb and vinegar.
I hope that this recipe will inspire you to make and use your own all purpose cleaning spray.
Very Important:
When making your own your own cleaning products, always label your products. While making your products keep all ingredients out of reach of children.
