These hashbrowns is really an amazing addition to breakfast. We usually  enjoy  it  with  breakfast instead of  chips. We  have  even  had  it  with  a braai  and  it  was  delicious.

The Recipe:


  • 500ml (240g) peeled, roughly grated potatoes
  • 50ml finely chopped leeks
  • 100ml cake flour
  • 4ml fine seasalt
  • 2 eggs
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • Fat or Oil to fry the hashbrowns in


Mix the grated potato and leeks. Add the flour, salt & pepper to the potato mixture and mix with a fork until thorougly mixed. Add the eggs and stir well.

Add spoonsful to the hot fat, press flat and fry until golden brown and cooked.

Eat while hot.
